Tapei City War Memorial, Feb 15, 2004

Near our home in Nankang, there is a large war memorial park. It is built on the side of a hill and offers good views, peacefulness, and wide-open spaces. We had a picnic and wandered in and around the park.

Trip to Taroko Gorge, Nov 27-29, 2003

This year for Thanksgiving, we left work and school for a train ride down the east coast of Taiwan to Hualien, then sightseeing and hiking in Taroko gorge. We stayed at a hotel in Tienhsiang, which was our base for walks and hikes in the area. The weather was perfect, and the scenery was fantastic!

Hiking Around Yangmingshan, Oct 25th, 2003

Newell Ann planned a great outing up to Yangmingshan. The weather was fantastic, and the kids were really interested in the geothermal steam. After exploring several beautiful areas of the park, we headed down to Peitou for dinner and a hot mineral-water bath.
