Around the Lin Residence

We stayed with the Lin family on Baisha Island. Like many Taiwanese houses, it is made of steel-reinforced concrete with ceramic tile inside and out. There is an altar on the top floor, as well as a water tank. The house was designed to take advantage of the cooling effect of ocean breezes.

These are pictures of the two houses, which are side-by-side. Note the construction of the floors and beds in the bedrooms.

These are views from the main house, including a picture of a postal motorcycle and one of the family dogs.

Here are some shots of the Lin family, Yen Mama and Melissa, Clara and Oliver, and us. We had a very enjoyable visit. The Lin family and their friends were very friendly and helpful. What great hosts!
