Mr. Lin took me out on his motorboat to see a number of smaller, scenic islands. We checked out Jishan Island, Dinggou Island, Yuanbei Island, Xiao Baisha Island, and Niao (Bird) Island. Most of the islands had dramatic views of hexagonal-shaped volcanic rock. We also saw a number of colorful fishing boats.

We moored at Bird Island, where Mr. Lin works for the city/island government. He showed me around town, where everyone that I met was very friendly. I even had an opportunity to try some of the local seafood! We then walked down to the the beach and bluffs where I got close-up views of the volcanic rock formations. The rocks were impressive and beautiful.

It was a fantastic trip!
