On the last Friday of August, Clara started 1st grade at Hu Shih Elementary School, in the Nan-kang district of Taipei City. The school is across the road from Academia Sinica. Clara's class has about 35 kids and one teacher. Her teacher's surname is Yu, and the children call her Yu Laoshi.

The kids wear uniforms to school 4 days a week. On Wednesday, they can wear clothes of their choice.
